Corrosion protection in level measurement

Special coatings and wetted materials for increased application integrity and occupational safety

Challenge

Material selection is a safety issue in level measurement of aggressive media such as hydrofluoric acid, hydrogen chloride, ammonia, or sulfuric acid. The corrosion of process connections and antennas can put application integrity and workers’ safety at risk. On top of this, maintenance to remove corroded parts is a cost-driver.

Solution

To protect their measuring equipment from aggressive media, KROHNE provides radars, guided radars and magnetic level indicators with corrosion-resistant materials such as PEEK, PTFE or PP as standard and supplies cladded flanges, threads, and antenna extensions using custom-made plastic coatings. In this way, application integrity and occupational safety can best be sustained.

  • Proven Lens, Drop or Horn antennas made of corrosion-resistant PEEK, PTFE or PP provide optimal protection against aggressive media

  • Avoid corrosion and safety issues using cladded flanges, threads, and antenna extensions

  • PTFE-coated probes as well as PTFE-lined measuring tubes ensure long-lasting protection of level instrumentation
